Mental Health First Aid

Mental health first aid (MHFA) is a training course that teaches people how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. This can be a variety of problems including; depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use problems, eating disorders and gambling problems.

What is Mental Health First Aid ?

The MHFA course teaches people how to recognise signs of mental ill health and the ability to approach and support someone whilst maintaining safety. You will learns skills to listen non judegmentally whilst reassuring and provide valuable information to assist with problems. You will learn to confidently encourage persons to seek professional help whilst looking for signs of trauma, high anxiety and risks of suicide and self harm.
